Parents who have an addiction to their mobile phones may be to blame for their poorly behaved children, research claims. Scientists have uncovered a trend between 【C1】______ use of the devices by mums and dads and behavioral problems in youngsters.
Almost 200 families were involved in the study of "technoference"—interruptions in face-to-face interactions because of technology devices. Technoference at meals can 【C2】______ children, researchers claim, causing them to become hyperactive, whine (抱怨), annoyed or have a bad temper. Poor behaviour in children was more 【C3】______ linked to their mothers’ phone usage, the scientists revealed in the journal Pediatric Research. Recent studies estimate parents use TV, computers, tablets and smartphones for nine hours per day on 【C4】______. A third of this time is estimated to be spent on smartphones, often used during family activities such as meals, playtime, and bedtime, which experts said are all important times involved in 【C5】______a child’s sociatemotional wellbeing. When parents are on their devices, research shows that they have fewer conversations with their children and are more 【C6】______when their offspring try to get their attention.
The researchers also quizzed 172 two-parent families who had a child over the age of five using online questionnaires. Two fifths of mothers and 32 per cent of fathers 【C7】______ being addicted to their phones across the six-month study. Therefore, the study is to launch a campaign to tackle the 【C10】______ in communication between parents and children caused by technology. [br] 【C1】
选项
答案
F
解析
空格处填入名词use的定语,可为形容词或名词。空格所在句the devices指代上一句的mobile phones。根据have an addition to their mobile phones可知,对手机上瘾也就是过度使用手机,excessive“过度的”符合语义.故选F。
