答案                      The Importance of Preparation
   It is not uncommon that some people are jealous of the "lucky dogs" and some people seem to await opportunities forever. In fact, both of these two kinds of people fail to recognize the importance of preparation, without which good luck and opportunities are just of no avail. For my part, I firmly believe in the remark "Luck is what happens when preparation meets oppdrtunity."
   For one thing, being prepared means we are fully aware of our strengths and weaknesses, thereby knowing which chances are real opportunities for us while others are not. For instance, if you excel in numbers and interpersonal communication and you are fully aware of that, then being a stockbroker can be a golden opportunity to earn a fortune. Having a full understanding of our strengths and weaknesses, we can seek such opportunities consciously. For another, being prepared also means we are qualified or competent enough to fulfill demanding tasks. Sometimes we mistakenly attribute others’ success to sheer luck. In effect, others’ success in most cases is the natural outcome of their adequate preparation.
   While luck seems to be something beyond our control, preparation is always within the scope of our capacity. With full preparation, every one of us can be a lucky dog.
