    Recently, we often hear complaints about people being dishonest, and what shocks us most is that people seem to get accustomed to a lot of dishonest behavior. We can see that there are dishonest practices from all walks of life. Students cheat in exams; businessmen sell fake commodities to consumers. What are the reasons that lead to these phenomena?
    The following factors need to be taken into consideration. First and foremost, numerous people neglect the moral values in pursuit of their own interests. What is more, we are lacking in effective laws and regulations to supervise these kinds of behavior. As a result, the problem of dishonesty becomes more and more severe.
    From my point of view, it pays to be honest in the long run. In the first place, honesty is a traditional virtue of the Chinese. Only by being honest can we win trust, respect and honor from others. Furthermore, honest people gain a lot since what they do brings benefit to others as well as to themselves. Hence, everyone in this world should value these moral virtues and be honest.
