This old saying goes through the long course of history, and it still enlightens the modern youth and encourages us to go further to do personal investigations, instead of always resorting to books for knowledge.
    Books can tell us the things that we have no opportunity to experience in daily life. However, unless book knowledge is applied to practice, it remains theoretical and, in the end, is useless. Hence, making personal investigations as a free man renders us an opportunity to obtain more knowledge. It is said that one learns best by doing, and I believe that it is true, whether one is successful or not.
    In conclusion, book knowledge opens us a world that we cannot experience personally. Meanwhile, we also need to experience by ourselves to obtain the knowledge that books can never tell us.
