It usually takes us two months to make delivery, and for a special order, it takes a little longer, let’s say, about 3 months.
You know we should get the goods ready, make out the documents and book shipping space. All these take time. Fortunately, our manufacturers are fully committed. For the present, they have no stock on hand. They are already working three shifts to speed up production, so that we are able to make shipment by the end of April.

You may realise that the number of items in the certificate and bill of lading differs from that in the contract, yet if you look at the contract again you will see it says partial shipment allowed.
We’re shipping in two lots, because the buyer wants to get whatever we can supply as soon as possible. We will probably have to get the credit extended for the second shipment. That reminds me that I must make out a credit note as soon as I can.

The cartons are comparatively light, and therefore easy to handle. They are not suitable for storing heavy cargo. The stevedores will see to that. Besides, we’ll match the cartons with straps. Silk blouses are not fragile goods. They can stand a lot of jolting. There is no need to worry about making the blouses spotted or ruined because the cartons covered with plastic sheets are water-proof, and as the cartons are made of cardboard, they must be carried with great care.
