Man: Hello. I’m ringing from Davies and Baker, Accountants. I need some advice about office equipment.
Woman: Right. Could I just take your name first?
Man: Yes, I’m James McDougall. That’s M-C-D-O-U-G-A-double L.
Woman: Thank you. Now, what exactly are you interested in?
Man: We need a new office printer, but I’m not sure which type.
Woman: Do you need anything special?
Man: We haven’t much space, so no wider than thirty-five centimetres.
Woman: We’ve got some that size.
Man: What about printout quality?
Woman: You can choose either two hundred and thirty-five or one hundred and ninety-six dots per centimetre. One hundred and ninety-six is fine if you don’t do much specialised printing.
Man: That’ll be OK. How fast is it? We’re a busy office.
Woman: Ten pages per minute, and you only have to wait fifteen seconds before the first page prints out. There’s an upgraded model that’ll be out next month. That does twenty pages per minute.
Man: That sounds ideal. So, what model is it?
Woman: It’s the HY one-eight-seven-four.
Man: And the price?
Woman: Well, we’ve a special offer on at the moment. It costs three hundred and eighty pounds, but if you order today, we can give you a twenty-per-cent discount, which brings it down to just three hundred and four pounds.
Man: That sounds fine. Do you deliver? We’re based in Burnham.
Woman: Fine, we deliver there on a Friday. We could do Friday the ninth of December . . .?
Man: I’d prefer the sixteenth.
Woman: Right. Now, about the delivery, we’ll be in touch . . .
