    As the world is globalized daily, more and more people are busy learning a second language, and some even tend to settle down in foreign countries permanently. Under such circumstances, it becomes very important for us to pay attention not to lose our mother tongue—Chinese. Chinese not only records thousand years of culture of China, it is also a kind of culture itself. To lose the mother tongue will mean to lose an important way to connect with our splendid culture and a most efficient way to communicate with our fellowmen, which will be a great loss to any of us. What’s more, mother tongue is significant to con-solidarity of Chinese people, it is taken as a symbol of China, and stands for the country. To this extent, to lose our mother tonge will mean to lose one’s symbol as a Chinese.
