   首先，我得说东亚国家地缘相近，人文相通，自古以来一直保持着友好交往。
   其次，东亚国家具有相当的经济实力，这一地区的人民智慧、勤劳。这个地区拥有丰富的劳动力资源和自然资源。
   回顾过去，东亚地区发生了深刻的变化，取得了巨大的进步。展望未来，推动东亚经济和社会发展达到新水平，已经具备了比较好的条件。

答案    Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear friends, Today, I am very pleased to be invited to the East Asia Summit(EAS), which has provided me with an opportunity to meet old friends and establish new contacts, and address the meeting.
   First of all, I would like to say that East Asian countries have enjoyed close geographic proximity and human similarities. They have maintained friendly exchanges since ancient times.
   Second, East Asian countries have built up significant economic strength. The people in this region are wise and hardworking. Moreover, this piece of land is endowed with rich human and natural resources.
   In retrospect, profound changes have taken place in East Asia and tremendous progress has been made. Looking ahead, relatively sound conditions exist for East Asia to raise its economic and social development to a new level.
