    Everybody wants a true friend and everybody has a different way of testing whether his friend is true or not Recently some people suggest that the best way to tell whether a friend is true or not is to ask him to lend you some money and see how he reacts to it I think such an opinion is absurd The genuineness of a friend cannot be judged by whether he lends you money or not since the money-lending situation can be complicated and the economic status of different friends may vary.
    To start with, a friend cannot always lend you money because the reasons why you need the money can be various. A good friend would always judge whether he is helping you in the right way. For example, if you need money for a book or for the registration of a new course, a true friend is surely supposed to help you out But if your purpose of borrowing the money is potentially hazardous, a true friend will certainly refuse to lend you the money. To make it detailed, if you are known to have drug problems or, say, addicted to gambling, a good and righteous friend would not lend any money because he knows that he would be adding fuel to the flame. A true friend has his own judgment about right and wrong and would try to prevent you from doing silly things or hurting yourself. Before lending you any money, he would always think of your benefits.
    Additionally, a friend may not be able to lend you money out of economic reasons. It is natural that sometimes you go through personal economic crisis, having to narrow the expending and even borrow money from other people. What you have to bear in mind is that if you are experiencing a tight budget, your friend may also be faced with economic problems at the same time. It would be unfair if you decide that your friend is untruthful to you simply because he does not have enough money to lend you. Friends try hard to help one another. But when there is nothing a friend can do to help, you should always remain reasonable.
    In conclusion, judging a friend by whether he is willing to lend you money is partial and arbitrary. Judging a person by whether he lends you money quickly enough or not is the way to find a banker, not a friend.
