To seek to reduce the suffering of the animals that are completely under human beings’ domination, and unable to fight back, is truly a mark of a civilised society.
    The animal welfare in a country is an indication of its moral progress. There is a long way for us to go. As the rapid economic growth boosts demand for animal products, animal abuse is increasing in our country. The sickening footage available online shows that bears are kept in so small cages that they cannot stand up, or in some cases cannot move at all, so that bile can be taken from them. This is just one of the numerous bloody cases happening around the world.
    In sum, people should treat animals better. These lovely creatures that are born in helplessness and innocence bring happiness to human beings. In return, we should at least treat them with respect and pay more attention to their welfare.
