答案     Rural life ideal reflected in the arts and literature is an important feature of Chinese civilization, which, to a iarge extern, can be attributed to Taoist affection towards nature. There are two favorite themes in the traditional Chinese paintings. One theme is the various kinds of happy scenes of family life. In most of the paintings, seniors are drinking tea and playing chess; men are sowing and reaping; women are weaving and sewing; and kids are playing outside. The other theme describes all kinds of joy in the country life. In these paintings, fishermen are fishing on the lake; farmers are cutting firewood or gathering herbs in the mountains; or scholars are composing poetry and painting under the pines. The two themes represent Confucian and Taoist ideal life respectively.
