答案     Prince Gong’s Mansion is an old princely mansion located on Liuyin" Street on the southern shore of Shicha Lake, and it was the private residence of He Shen, a favorite minister of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. During the early reign of Emperor Xianfeng, Prince Gong had the mansion, hence the name. Prince Gong’s Mansion was the largest princely mansion in the Qing Dynasty and covered an area of over 60 000 square meters, being equally divided into the buildings and the gardens. The buildings in the mansion are on three axes (middle, eastern and western) and are made of several quadrangles. There are three wonders in Prince Gong’s Mansion: the first one is the Western Gate—the largest gate wholly carved of white marble in China; the second one is the wooden Grand Theater House, which has excellent acoustics; the third one is the stele inscribed with the Chinese character "fu" (happiness) in the calligraphy of Emperor Kangxi, which is placed in the Miyun Cave in an artificial hill.
