Given the increasing number of foreign companies operating in the country and fierce competition in the job market, people who speak many languages have a distinct advantage. This trend made linguist Kenny Mayer realize the need to establish a language school that would help citizens improve their performance.
"Since impressive language skills are essential in the corporate world, I decided to build a school for those who wish to enhance their abilities," Mayer said in an interview.
Mayer opened Fluency Masters Academy on Friday at the Collinsway Tower. All programs offered at the academy are tailored to students who are beginners and have never studied a foreign language. Among the courses currently available are English, Japanese, and French. Native speakers in each language will conduct lessons on weekday nights. Mayer says that the academy will allow professionals to learn a language without travelling abroad.
