M: Hi, Debbie. I was wondering if I could take some time off at the end of August. I was just looking at my calendar, and I realized I haven’t used any of vacation days.
W: August could be a problem. Rick is leaving in July to open the Baker Street office. Also, some staff will be teaching the new employee training courses in August, so I’ll be understaffed. I’ve even had everyone postpone business trips because of that.
M: I see. How about September, then? Would that be better?
W: That would be much better. Business is normally slower then, so I won’t need as many staff.
