F: Yes, of course, Dr. Brown. But could you please tell me what you are going to discuss with me?
M: I placed an order for a complete set of Romanian furniture, and was promised a delivery within 10 days. But 20 days have passed now and I haven’t received a single piece, nor a message to notify me of the delay, or an apology.
F: I’m sorry to hear that. Let me have a check. You ordered 20 days ago, that is, er.. . 10 September.
M: Right.
F: But we don’t seem to have received an order of Romanian furniture. Let me check again. . . I’ll see to it that.. .
M: But I must see your manager! I insist.
F: OK. He’s at a meeting now. If you can wait here for 20 minutes. I’ll arrange for him to see you at 4:00 o’clock.
M: No problem. I ought to see him, today.
