    As is demonstrated in the diagram, since China’s entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO), some industries in China have bloomed very quickly, while others have declined, and even gone bankrupt. So we can see that the WTO entry brings China chances, as well as challenges.
    The accession marks China’s integration into the world economy. Because of this, China can enjoy a variety of imported products, advanced science and technology, and modern management. Our own products will also have easy access to the global market. In addition, the WTO entry can promote reform of our enterprises, and make them more alive and competitive. So undoubtedly, our entry into the WTO surely provides lot of opportunities. But with the entry, fierce competition from foreign countries will make some less competitive enterprises in China lose their market, which may result in their bankruptcy, and lead to the unemployment of millions of Chinese workers. Besides, the WTO accession also poses a big challenge to our security system since our commitments to WTO require further transparency of information from governments as well as corporations.
    We should carefully take into consideration and prudently deal with both the chances and the challenges of the global market, in order to increase benefits, and eliminate misfortune. We believe a vigorous economy and higher standards of living are not far away.
