    In the 21st century, we are entering the "information explosion" age. Information is available through many channels, such as books, newspaper, magazines, radio and TV stations and the Internet. In such a case, it’s hard to distinguish between correct and incorrect information so that too much information has inevitably become a heavy burden to some people’s spiritual life.
    Like everything else, information explosion has both advantages and disadvantages. Generally, the advantages can be listed as follows. Firstly, the new information age has brought us so much convenience that we are allowed to get enough information just with a simple click sitting in front of the computers. Secondly, this explosion of information is creating a shift in the cultures of various countries, and contributing to the economic development in varying degrees.
    However, every coin has two sides. The disadvantages are also obvious. To begin with, we are confused, annoyed, distracted and upset by an incredibly large quantity of information. For example, we are easily carried away by irrelevant information and forget our original plan when searching for something online. To make matters worse, information leakage gives the initiative to criminals. According to investigation, leakage and theft of sensitive information has caused much damage to individuals and organizations all over the world.
    In short, there is no denying that this globalization of information exchange has changed the lives of everyone on the planet. We must not be nervous in the face of information explosion. What really counts is to learn to filter the information we have got and make full use of those good but avoid those bad.
