    Bullying can take on many forms—name calling names, teasing, spreading rumors and physical aggression. It is still largely ignored or discounted as " a part of growing up. " The effects of bullying can last a lifetime on the victims, including lowered self-esteem, depression, and suicide. Besides, victims of bullies are also more likely to report physical symptoms like headaches, stomachaches and colds than kids who aren’t bullied. It has always had potentially serious implications for the bully: increased likelihood of committing criminal acts.
    Children who have low self-esteem, few friends or lack social communication skills are often the targets of bullies, simply because they’re less likely to fight back or pose a real challenge to the bully. If your child suffered from bullying, here are several words you can tell him or her: being bullied is not his or her fault, and you will accompany him or her to face the bullying together. You should also tell your child how to respond the bullying. Tell your child not to react, but to ignore the bully, walk away and get help if pursued. Above all, tell your child to report bullying immediately to a trusted adult.
    Being bullied as a child can have lasting impacts on a child’s psychological health. Don’t neglect the effects and help your child keep away the bullying.
