答案    More than 2,000 years ago, the diligent and courageous peoples of Eurasia explored and opened up several routes of trade and people-to-people exchanges that linked the major civilizations in Asia, Europe and Africa. Collectively these routes have been called the Silk Road by later generations. The Silk Road spirit, featuring peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, win-win and mutual benefit, has been passed from generation to generation, and contributed greatly to the prosperity and development of countries along the Silk Road.
   In the 21st century, it is all the more important for us to keep alive the Silk Road spirit in the face of the sluggish global economy and the complex international and regional circumstances. The Belt and Road Initiative is a systemic project and therefore requires all participating countries to follow the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits and to synergize the development strategies of the countries. The Initiative aims to promote the connectivity of the Asian, European and African continents and their adjacent seas, establish and strengthen partnerships among countries in these regions, set up all-directional and multi-tiered connectivity networks, and realize their diversified, independent, balanced and sustainable development. The connectivity projects under the Initiative will help tap market potentials in these regions, promote investment and consumption, create demand and jobs, and enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges among countries along the routes.
