Which of the following statements is correct about the Belt and Road?
Over the five years since President Xi Jinping announced his grand plan to connect Asia, Africa and Europe, the Belt and Road Initiative has morphed into a broad catchphrase to describe almost all aspects of Chinese engagement abroad.
The Belt and Road is a "21st century silk road" confusingly made up of a "belt" of overland corridors and a maritime "road" of shipping lanes. From South-east Asia to Eastern Europe and Africa, Belt and Road includes 71 countries that account for half the world’s population and a quarter of global GDP.
Everything from a Trump-affiliated theme park in Indonesia to a jazz camp in Chongqing has been branded Belt and Road. Countries from Panama to Madagascar, South Africa to New Zealand, have officially pledged support.
China is a world leader in infrastructure investment. In contrast with the general underinvestment in transportation infrastructure in the industrialized world after 1980 and the pursuit of export-oriented development policies in most Asian and Eastern European countries, China has pursued an infrastructure-based development strategy, which has resulted in engineering, construction expertise and a wide range of modern reference projects from which to draw, including roads, bridges, tunnels, and high-speed rail projects.
While some people claim that the Belt and Road Initiative has potential threats to other countries, it is still a promising scenario that can fuel the development of a wide range of countries and regions. Through promoting cooperation and connectivity, it can open up new opportunities for countries along the Belt such as Indonesia, Rwanda and Estonia to make joint efforts to prompt development and promote mutual benefits.

B
解析
事实细节的找寻与判断。根据原文“…grand plan to connect Asia, Africa and Europe, the Belt and Road Initiative has morphed into a broad catchphrase to describe almost all aspects of Chinese engagement abroad”可知,“一带一路”连接亚非欧,并且此概念已被广泛用于表述中国各方面的外交事务,选项A故意将两部分混淆,制造干扰,实为错误选项。根据“confusingly made up of a “belt” of overland corridors and a maritime “road” of shipping lanes”可知,“一带一路” 由海陆两部分组成,选项B正确。根据“Belt and Road includes 71 countries that account for half the world’s population and a quarter of global GDP”可知,沿线国家覆盖全球半数人口以及四分之一的GDP,选项C错误。根据“Countries from Panama to Madagascar, South Africa to New Zealand, have officially pledged support”可知,除亚非欧外,也有其他国家支持该战略,选项D错误。因此,本题答案为选项B。
