Now, listen to Part Two of the interview.
M: The point is, what a cynical thing you are saying, get yourself an MBA so you can find yourself a billionaire?
W:(6) This is not how I want my daughter, or my son, for that matter out there dating. I want my kids to have their own money, as I am sure you do. Because when you have the money in the relationship, you have the power in the relationship. That’s just the way it works. And so you need to know what you want in another person, but you know, there are people out there who say I want this, I want to be wealthy, and this is one way to get there.
M: Okay. So besides getting the MBA, whatever it is, will get you closer to the person who is wealthy? What else can you do?
W: Well. You can look for common interests. I mean if you look at the things that billionaires or very wealthy people do, they tend to spend a lot of money on luxury items, so focusing your interest on real estate or art galleries, or collecting, you might get involved in charities where they are likely to be. If you don’t have enough money to buy a ticket to their great ball of the year, then volunteer. But get yourself in there in a way that you are interested in the subject also. I think that it’s not easy to fake these things,(7) and the good news is that many billionaires these days seem to be marrying for smarts as well as for money. They are not looking for people who can’t carry on a conversation.
M: Yeah. I was just going to say what’s into for the billionaire?
W:(8) I think in a lot of cases, you have to ask that question, because if you are dating somebody who has all the money in the relationship, you need to know upfront what you are giving, otherwise you are going to be in trouble on the back end.
M: But this whole premise of marrying somebody for money isn’t like buying a house whose foundation is sand essentially.
W: I think in a large number of cases, it can be.(9) And that’s why if you go into that kind of marriage, you’d better have a premarital agreement, and it’d better be tight, so you’d better have your own lawyer negotiating it for you.
M: Alright, Jean Chatzky, thanks so much. Nice to see you.
W: Me too.
This is the end of Part Two of the interview. Questions 6 to 10 are based on what you have just heard.
6. What’s Jean’s attitude towards dating with a billionaire for money?
7. What kind of women are billionaires most unlikely to marry?
8. What do you need to know in advance when dating with a billionaire?
9. What is NOT suggested in terms of marriage contract for people marrying somebody for money?
10. What is the theme of this part of the interview?
选项
A、Oppositive.
B、Supportive.
C、Neutral.
D、Impassive.
答案
A
解析
本题设题点在对话问答处。根据句(6)可知,Jean表示不想让自己的小孩因为钱而去约会,由此可以推出Jean对于为了钱而和亿万富翁约会的事持反对的态度,因此[A]为答案。
