The Iranian authorities have arrested 6 people for their alleged involvement in the assassination attempt on the leading reformer Saeed Hajjarian. The authorities said two of the culprits directly involved in the shooting were among the six. Mr. Hajjarian, who was deputy leader of the Teheran City Council, was shot in the face in Teheran just over a week ago by 2 men who fled on a motorbike. He remains unconscious in hospital but doctors have reported some improvement in his condition.
