M: Here are some points that I wish to discuss with you. First, it’s about room rates for groups during the peak season. I wonder if you can give us more discounts based on the original 10%. Perhaps a 20% discount?
W: Please look at our tariff. The room rate for a double room is 40 dollars per night. We usually offer 10% com-mission for groups. If you could guarantee at least 20 groups in 2006, we’d be pleased to give you 20% discount, which is 32 dollars per night.
M: I can guarantee 15 groups. How about 34 dollars?
W: OK! I can accept your offer.
M: Thank you. The second point is about the cancellation charges. We wonder if you could free us from any compensation except for "no show" on the same day.
W: The problem is we can’t guarantee to have the rooms sold. We may try, and this should be written in the agreement; in case the rooms reserved by you aren’t sold before 6:00 in the evening we’ll have to charge you.
