Teen fashion magazines are the new craze. The teen magazine market is expanding rapidly in Hong Kong as teens start paying more attention to fashion. In the past, the fashion magazine market was focused mainly on the 20 ~ 35 age group, but now there are magazines for teens, MC Sister, Non-no and Amoeba are all examples. The message is "be young and be yourself.
Many teens find that these magazines are really attractive. They are relatively cheap, costing between $25 and $45, and so are affordable for young people. The magazines focus on youth fashion and teen lifestyles, thus completely suiting teens’ tastes. And the magazines provide information on prices and the best places to buy clothes."The magazines are great; they give you tips on cheap ways to look fashionable and where to get the best deals," says Mary Yu, a 16-year old from Kowloon Tong.
The models in the magazines are also young and most are not famous fashion models either. The magazines know that teens like to see other teens, so they use young girls who generally have no experience as models and who would like to give it a try."We use all sorts of different models; we advertise in the magazine for girls and boys. Our readers like it, " says Andy Lam, a fashion director, "because we show real people who have their own style, haircut and look.It makes the magazine more interesting."
But teachers and parents are often not so keen on the new magazines, worrying that they encourage teens to pay too much attention to fashion and the way they look rather than who they are, and thus they tend to ignore their studies. The other worry is the amount of money young people spend on fashion, dyeing their hair and buying the latest platform shoes. The costs of being fashionable are high and, in most cases, it’ s the parents who have to pay for it.

选项
答案
teens’ignoring studies
解析
根据表格右列“Worries”定位至文中最后一段“But teachers and parents are often not so keen on the new magazines, worrying…”。根据空缺处前“Too much attention to fashion”定位至该段第一向“But teachers and parents are often not so keen on the new magazines, worrying that they encourage teens to pay too much attention to fashion and the way they look rather than who they are, and thus they tend to ignore their studies.”
