Over the past six weeks, Nicky, 42, has cut her daily routine, and all the products associated with it, out of her life altogether. Yes, for 40 days and 40 nights, there has been no showering, no hair washing, no teeth cleaning and no face washing. She was, in effect, (30)seeking to find out whether we are all simply wasting our money in the name of vanity. By the end of the fourth week, something extraordinary happened. Nicky noticed that not only was she physically feeling better than she had done in a long time, her skin had begun to glow. At the same time, persistent black eyes disappeared unexpectedly. (31) Aside from that, her skin looked fresher and brighter than it had for a decade. But she said she would never want to do anything like that again because not washing affects our friendships, family relationships and self-confidence. (32)Thank goodness she works from home, otherwise it would most likely have had a damaging effect on her career because of this experiment. A bar of soap, organic shampoo and conditioner, and a basic moisturiser (保湿霜) are all she needs now. "While I wouldn’t suggest anyone else take things to the extreme like I did, they can rest assured that when it comes to their beauty routines, less is more," Nicky suggested.
30. Why did Nicky cut her daily routine?
31. What happened to Nicky’s skin four weeks later?
32. How did Nicky avoid the damaging effect of the experiment upon her work?
选项
A、She chose to work at home.
B、She changed clothes often.
C、She quit her job in advance.
D、She asked for sick leave.
答案
A
解析
事实细节题。短文中提到幸好她是在家里工作,否则这些负面影响很可能会干扰到她的工作。由此可知,Nicky选择在家里工作才使自己免受这项实验不好的影响。
