答案     It is reported that there are about 40 million people learning Chinese worldwide besides Chinese people, which proves that Chinese is gaining its popularity all over the world.
    This phenomenon can be attributed to several main reasons. First, as China continues to enjoy fast economic growth and extensive contact with me rest of the world, many foreign enterprises wish to expand or develop their business in China, thus employees who can speak Chinese are greatly welcomed. Second, many foreigners see a great future in Chinese market and want to get involved in it. Third, some foreigners are interested in the various values and legends in Chinese culture whose history has been continuous for about 5000 years.
    As a college student, I am inspired by the mushrooming of foreign friends’ interests in Chinese. I think we should, therefore, study hard to improve both our mother tongue and English, so that we could make contributions to the spread and prosperity of our language and culture.
