M: Well, I like the location, but it seems a bit darker than the other flat, don’t you think?

M: You have a point there. If we can paint them a brighter colour…The rooms are not quite as spacious.
W: That’s true, but there is an extra room. We could use that for storing items that we don’t often use and our bicycles.
M: Good idea. There aren’t so many stairs to climb either. As usual the key thing is money. This place is a little more expensive than the other one. Can we stretch our budget this far?
W: I think we can. Actually, I’m thinking less about the rent and more about the time we’ll save getting to and from university.
M: Yes. We’ve both got part-time jobs, so we won’t have any financial difficulties. We’ll just save a little less, that’s all.
W: What do you think of the landlady? She seems OK to me.
M: Yeah, she seems fine. Let’s ask her about the painting. We can offer to do it ourselves and pay for the paint. I don’t see how she could object to that.
W: Are you any good at painting?
M: My middle name is Picasso!
