    Currently, almost two-thirds of the global luxury brands can be purchased in China. According to a report, the total consumption in the country accounts for a quarter of the global market share and ranks second in the world in terms of luxury commodity consumption after Japan.
    China’s appetite for luxuries is growing faster than that of any other country. As China has achieved new heights in its economy and has recently entered an era of mass consumption, the purchasing power of Chinese citizens is rising along with the development of the commodity economy. Therefore, it is inevitable that people who pursue material life will buy luxuries as long as they can afford.
    However, with regard to the consumers’ attitude, a large number of Chinese consumers are still in the stage of " conspicuous consumption", which is unhealthy. Buying luxuries should not be a way of showing off or a sign associated with power, wealth and social status. In my opinion, it signifies the pursuit of a better, more dignified and high-quality life with a healthy mentality.
