答案     The line graph provides the information about the quantity of goods transported in the United Kingdom by four means of transport over the period 1974 to 2002.
Shipping goods by road was the most popular choice throughout the period, with around 70 million tonnes of goods delivered by this mode of transport in 1974. The total amount had since then risen steadily, despite fluctuation, and reached about 100 million by 2002. The rising trend was also seen in transporting goods by water. The figure climbed to just under 60 million in 1982, after which it held steady at this level and then grew again to over 60 million tonnes in 2002.
There was an opposite trend in the use of trains for shipment. The amount of goods delivered by the railway system declined to 25 million tonnes in 1994, before climbing back to 40 million tonnes in 2002. At the same time, the figure for the pipeline was lowest, although it increased more than seven-fold from 3 million to 21 million tonnes.
Overall, nearly all forms of transport saw an upward trend in the amounts of goods transported, while rail did not see any significant growth.
