答案     There is a statement that the richer a person is, the more he or she should donate to charities. I suppose that some people put forward this proposition because they want to make the world more equal. However, I disagree with this statement and as far as I am concerned, this is not a feasible way to reduce the gap between the rich and the poor.
    Firstly, we should respect and protect other people’s private property. How to spend the money one has is a personal decision and we should not interfere in other people’s choices. Rich people do not have the responsibility or the obligation to contribute their money. The sense of obligation in the imperative mode "should" is a violation of this legal right.
    Secondly, if rich people are required to give away their money to charities, they will probably lose the motivation to make money in the end, which is likely to have a negative impact on the economy. People make money for many reasons, including fulfilling their needs for goods and services, providing quality life for their family and realizing their career goals that are as respectable as donating money to charities. d)If people who earn more money are obliged to donate more money to charities, their motivation of producing wealth will be reduced. Furthermore, running a business requires continuous financial input. lf donations to charities are made a compulsory duty of the rich, the financial stability of a company would be damaged, which might hold back economic progress.
    There are many more problems with this statement. For example, Charity is a voluntary and noble act, but if we make it an obligation, it will bring burdens and pressure to people, and make it more similar to tax, but less like a voluntary good will. In general, I agree with the idea that people who make more money are more capable of making the world a better place; donating money to charities is an important means to achieve this goal. Alternatively, a more appropriate expression of this idea would be "rich people should be encouraged to contribute more money to charities".
