    在除夕，中国家庭会享受一顿丰盛的年夜饭、燃放爆竹、舞龙舞狮、熬夜或干脆通宵“守岁”。在除夕，远离家乡工作在外的人们会想方设法赶回家来，哪怕长途跋涉也在所不惜，因此年夜饭也被称为“团圆饭”。除夕过后便是大年初一，这天人们要互相拜年，说些“新年快乐”“恭喜发财”等吉利话，彼此送去祝福。／／过年期间，长辈会给孩子们发红包。人们都会小心谨慎在此期间不打碎任何东西，否则的话在新的一年里就会错失好运。／／

It is believed that on New Year’s Day attention should be paid to ensure not to break anything, or else one will miss good fortunes in the whole year.
