     It is a practice nowadays that from high-range apartments downtown to detached villas in the suburbs, foreign names of globally glamorous landmarks or artists are borrowed to illustrate the property’s elegance. In the residential districts, the buildings including Victoria Mansion, Paris Garden, Rome Garden, and Vienna Plaza are not rare to find. How to account for this phenomenon? Look no further than psychology.
     The first shot we can say is the vanity. In most cases, big names equal high prices. The big names now are a symbol, an index of high social status and financial power, serving as a social approval and a chance to show off. They are reluctant to be thought less. It is such a delicate change in the homebuyers, such a love knot and yearn that is cashed in on by the real estate project.
    The buyers get nothing valuable from the names, which have no relation to the properties’ quality and location. Why such a rush? Some homebuyers seem indifferent to the glamorous names but feel their life has soaked in western culture. The foreign names well illustrate the property’s style and value. When people see Manhattan, they see the American lifestyle. That leads to demand for western-style houses. This phenomenon comes from an inclination to western culture and has made cities lose their own characteristics.
     It’s sad to see the native features fading. With little cultural essence and customized quality, the value is doubtful. It is important for the development to adopt suitable design and qualified construction.
