According to this passage, women over the age of______are the most affected by retirement.
A study has found that many women will find themselves more miserable with their advancing years, while most men feel happier once they retire according to the Daily Mail. The study, carried out by researchers from the English longitudinal Study of Ageing Center, tracks more than 10,000 men and women over the age of 50 since 2002. (14) They discover that women over the age of 75 are the worst affected by their retirement. They also find that men become more satisfied with their lives once they escape from full-time work. (15) But for women retirement is more likely to bring loneliness, depression, dissatisfaction and poor quality of life. (16) Professor Michael Marmot who leads the research, says that women in general become less happy with their lives because they have lost their husbands or their children have grown up and been away in the past years. (16) Besides, women are also disproportionately affected by the difficulties of having to care for their sick relatives and so on. However, men appear to live happily after retirement, and among those the men over the age of 65 have the highest level of "life satisfaction". (17) Professor Marmot suggests that old men do not have the same feeling as that of old women, which could be because that men enjoy their retirement by finding time to concentrate on hobbies and spend more time with their friends and families.
