    Living in Beijing is not at all easy. Citizens have to endure the exorbitant housing and frequent traffic jams. Now, they have to put up with yet another monster-hazy and toxic air. There have been many reports about the low quality of air in Beijing, which raise our concerns about air pollution. To control air pollution, I think we should plant more trees and discourage people from using cars.
    First of all, forestation is a good way to control the air pollution. With more trees in the neighborhood, the effect of photosynthesis will be more prominent, which helps maintain the oxygen level in the air. People would feel less suffocating with the presence of trees. Besides, trees can keep water and soil and are able to prevent soil from being turned into sands. That is why there are fewer sand storms for an area with forestation. Secondly, citizens should be discouraged to use cars when travelling within short distance. It is reported that cars emit major pollutants, such as green-house gas, into the air. This means the more we use petrol-powered cars, the worse the air quality will be. If we limit our car use, for instance, carpooling and imposing quotas of car ownership, the air quality will be less affected by car exhausts. In conclusion, we could control air pollution through forestation and discouraging car use.
