    "Do in Rome as the Romans do". This saying eloquently advises every tourist to respect the local culture. I could not agree with this advice more and I think that visitors should follow the local customs.
    First of all, the purpose of traveling is to experience more and know more about the world. What is the point of visiting Japan if we expect Japanese sushi tastes like cheese burger in our hometown? Again why do we bother to travel across deserts, if we naively hope to take a shower every day? In order to have a unique travelling experience, we must respect the local customs and let them surprise us. Secondly, requiring host countries to accept the cultural diversity of the visitors is an act of cultural imperialism. Imagine how it will be if people in India, a country where eating with fingers is widely accepted, have to offer a number of tools transporting food into the mouth: chopsticks, spoons, knife and fork. The Indian characteristic is lost and replaced by the featureless diversity. This is a rather rude imposition and visitors have no right to "invade" the host culture in this way.
    In conclusion, visitors should be aware of the importance of following local practices, and appreciate the unparalleled experience coming out of it.
