    Vegetarianism is gaining its popularity in Western countries and many people now in China also choose to be a vegetarian. Compared with meat eaters, vegetarians are supposed to be healthier, so I think it is better to be a vegetarian.
    Vegetarianism is a healthy lifestyle that should be promoted. According to clinical studies, those who consume meat on daily basis are easier to develop heart diseases. The cause of these diseases is cholesterol, which is accumulated through meat consumption. Besides, the chances of getting cancer are greater if we take in meat, especially red meat. If, however, we have vegetables only, we shall be healthier, because many nutriments, such as vitamins, protein, fibre and minerals, are rich in vegetables. Moreover, vegetarian diets are less greasy, which is good for our digestive system. Finally, it is also true that vegetarian diets are usually low-fat and low-sodium, which could prevent us from getting obese.
    In conclusion, it is fair to say that meat consumption will lead to many potential health problems, while vegetarianism is beneficial to our health.
