答案     In order to hold the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting, the Chinese government has created a clear blue sky in Beijing. City residents have given it a name: "APEC Blue". Some said that APEC stands for "Air pollution Eventually Controlled" , while I agree with the opinion that the "APEC Blue" is just a transient illusion.
    A series of measures have been taken to reduce the Beijing smog during the APEC meeting, including limiting the number of cars, granting and suspending production in factories. However, all those measures are just a flash in the pan. A short-term change cannot get rid of the root of pollution.
    Perhaps we can learn from Britain in lessening pollution. In 1952, the Great Smog killed 4, 000 people in four days in London. After that, Britain passed its first air pollution act, which stipulated that all power plants should be shut down, factories must build taller chimneys, and the heating system must be improved in London.
    Without a long-term strategy, the "APEC Blue" will never be transformed into a permanent "Beijing Blue".
