Launched in 1986, SkyTrain is the oldest and one of the longest fully-automated, driverless, rapid transit systems in the world. It runs on a guide way, high above city streets, though there are a few stations located underground. The Blue and Red Lines connect downtown Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby and Surrey. The Green Line connects downtown Vancouver to the Vancouver International Airport and the city of Richmond.
