    One of the factors that lead to the drop of happiness index in modern society is that people are living under great pressure. Some people are afraid of pressure. They think that stress will deprive them of joy and happiness and then cause both physical and mental problem. That is why they prefer something less competitive to something more demanding and challenging.
    Others argue that stress isn’t as bad as it is often supposed to be. Actually, a certain amount of stress is necessary to provide motivation and stimulation. Without stress, you may slack off and dream away your time. Without stress, your life will become meaningless and dull. People need a certain stress to bring their potential into full play.
    In my opinion, we shouldn’t escape from stress but face it bravely. What we can do is to adapt to the stress and to profit from it rather than to avoid it. Of course it shouldn’t be overwhelming.
