    With more negative reports on college students’ immoral behavior appearing in the newspapers, people come to realize the importance of enhancing students’ moral education. Now, higher education institutes start to emphasize more on the young’s moral cultivation, as the primary and middle schools do.
    There is no doubt that moral education is of great significance to human beings and the development of the society. It is well-known that man’s civilization should be governed by law. However, law is not that almighty. There are still many fields that are beyond the reach of law, which makes morality and moral education necessary for our society. Only with moral education will the advance of our society be guaranteed.
    In my opinion, moral cultivation is as important as academic education in colleges. If people focus too much on high marks and neglect moral education, students bred in such an atmosphere may turn out to be graduates with flaws in character, which will do no good to the society in the end. Therefore, it is high time people attached more importance to moral cultivation.
