M: Let’s invite our friend Erica, the web designer. We know that’s not easy, using artwork and computers to create a brand for business. What did you do as a web designer, Erica?
W: (19)They hire me to give them a website and what I really do for them is to give them a brand. I give them a marketing strategy, do copyrighting and editing for them, and help them organize their information.
M: You do so much more than just make a website.
W: I like my job and my customers who know me and who have been through the process. They do appreciate it when all is said and done. But I think a lot of people don’t really realize all the skills that go into making a really good professional website.
M: What is a really important aspect of web design for you?
W: (20) Usability is the most important aspect of web design. You know, the whole idea of usability is designing a web site with the user in mind, urn, helping somebody find their way through a page, helping them get their information quickly. Basically it’s those two things, finding information quickly.
M: I think you are a great listener. You can capture the feeling of your customers.
W: (21) People have complimented me that I have the ability to talk to the audience that they’re trying to reach and transform that feeling into a visual thing and put it up there on the web.
