    The number of scientific breakthroughs in China has grown very fast over the past years. In 2001, the number was almost 50. In 2002, the number was about 100 and in 2004 the number was four times as big as 2001.
    In my point of view, one reason of this growth is the development of modern science. Scientists care more about the areas which are not exploited and the working environment has improved a lot. They have modern equipments and conditions. Another reason is that China has become more and more powerful nowadays. The Chinese government has invested a large sum of money in the breakthrough field and encouraged scientists to devote themselves to the scientific breakthroughs because it is extremely crucial to a country. Scientific breakthroughs stand for innovation and innovation is the soul of a country.
    In my opinion, scientific breakthroughs in China will increase very fast in the future. More and more fields will be exploited by the scientists. I believe China will become stronger in the near future.
