    There’s a saying that goes, "Waste is worse than loss." in which I can see much point for the reasons as below:
    Firstly, seeing from the intention behind, waste is an intended behaviour of getting rid of useful things, while loss is an unplanned or unwanted state of losing belongings. Therefore, if both are considered mistakes, waste is more unforgivable.
    Secondly, by comparing the results, we can find that waste has much worse influence on people’s behaviour as well as the whole society. It may stimulate people’s desire and encourage similar behaviours. Can you imagine a society full of waste while a considerable part of people are still in bad need of basic necessities?
    Besides, loss is quite often inevitable while waste is not. It is something that can be avoided but is indulged by us. With better awareness of preventing waste we can eventually reduce or even avoid it.
