   Every year, the number of applicants for government position vacancies increases sharply. Many people believe that being a civil servant is very perfect because it can bring comparatively higher and steadier salary, better welfare, and higher social status. While others argue that a civil servant’s job often prevents one from bringing his strongpoint into full play. In my opinion, civil servant is not a wise choice for some people.
   First, civil servant is not an ideal job for those people with active characters. A civil servant’s work is somewhat routine and boring, so an active person may not stand doing almost the same work day after day. That’s why some civil servants choose to leave their positions after several years. Second, working for the government is not a good choice for those people with creative talents. These people can do much better and contribute more in a creative profession.
   All of this being said, civil servant positions are not suitable for some people, and the best policy for choosing a job should be based on one’s personality, interest and talent, so careful consideration should be taken before applying for these jobs.
