Swimming is a very popular pastime, especially when the temperature is high. To stay cool in water is delightful on a very hot summer day. Most people can’t help rushing off to the beach and leaping into the sea. But, be careful. In some circumstances swimming can be quite dangerous.
    If you are a beginner or a rather weak swimmer, you must either swim in a swimming pool or in an area for swimmers, if you go swimming, you must also keep your eyes open for the red flag at the beach. If it is flying you must not swim; it means the waves are too rough for most swimmers. Of course, you may swim in a swimming pool on those days.
    If you are a very strong swimmer, you may be wherever you like, but even then you must still be careful. Careless swimmers make very good meals for the fish. Also if you want to swim a long distance at sea, it is always a good idea to ask another strong swimmer to accompany you and you must first of all inquire about local currents and tides. If you don’t, you may end up in the Pacific Ocean.
