                 Recent Job or a High Academic Regree?
    Amid fierce competition on job markets, a desirable job is the utmost concern of many graduates. I’m now a graduate student at Renmin University. If I have to make a choice between a decent job and a high academic degree, I would rather choose the former.     The first reason for my choice is that a high academic degree does not necessarily translate into a decent job. Over the past two years, getting employed at a government agency or a university has become increasingly difficult for holders of high academic degrees.
    Secondly, both of my parents are farmers who depend on the small patch of land for a living. They have difficulty providing for my study at college, which is why I’m reluctant to add to their trouble by continuing my education.
    Finally, with a decent job in hand, I can pursue a high degree when I’m better off financially I can choose a major that is closely related to my career. In this way, I can enhance my professionalism.
    This is why I prefer to find a decent job. However, what’s said above doesn’t mean that high academic degrees are of little importance. I make this choice because I need a job to support myself and my parents.
