    Animated films never fail to fascinate me, and The Lion King is no exception. The film is about a young lion cub named Simba who struggles with various obstacles in life, and finally takes his rightful place as King of the Pride Lands. Though it was almost ten years ago that I first saw it, it is fresh in my mind as if I had just seen it.
    It is an incredible film. When King Mufasa tried to save his son, Simba, at the expense of his own life, I was reduced to tears by this selfless love. When Simba got over from the tragedy with the company of Timon and Pumbaa, I was amazed at the healing power of friendship. When Simba knew the truth and finally muster up his courage to face up to the reality and take up his responsibility as the king of the Pride Lands, I was overjoyed. When Scar wickedly plotted to kill his own brother, King Mufasa, to make himself king, I was overwhelmed by his intense desire for power.
    The Lion King makes me laugh and cry, and makes me angry and excited. Such a spectacular film has appealed to and will invariably appeal to people of all ages.
