    The campus is our home. Throughout the years of our college life, we sleep in the dormitories, eat in the school canteens, study in the classrooms, read in the library, and refresh and amuse ourselves on campus. Since the campus is where we live and study, every one of us has the obligation to keep it clean and looking nice.
    But how is it now, the campus? Actually it is not all that it should be. Here and there you find half- eaten pieces of bread, banana peels, waste paper, orange juice cartons, etc. The boys’ dormitories are littered with empty glass bottles, dirty shoes and unwashed clothes. To top it all, some of the rooms are suffocating with cigarette smoke.
    Before starting to solve the problem, we should first of all, let those who litter know that a clean campus is vital to every student, If the campus looked like a garbage dump, would it be possible for us to live and study comfortably? Things would be quite different if these people watched their behavior and stopped throwing waste around as they do now. Persuasion alone is not enough. There should be strict measures to deal with those who defy regulations and public ethics. I do believe that through the persistent efforts of both the school authorities and the student community we will be able to turn our campus into a garden-like place where we can enjoy a beautiful tranquil learning environment.
