Dear Sir re Madam,
    When we notice that the number of Chinese Internet users are increasing at a fast rate, we cannot neglect the fact that net bars have mushroomed hi both big cities and small towns. Rules have also been made to regulate the running of net bars. Nevertheless, the existence of net bars is still a controversy.
    Net bars give common people an opportunity to use computers. Its network is fast and the charge is low. People can enjoy themselves by chatting through QQ or playing online games. A net bar in the urban area can be of a great help for local students to keep in touch with the outside world. But on the other hand, net bars are also a cause of some social problems. Firstly, net bars become an ideal place where someone can keep away from the real life. When they confront difficulties and frustrations, they will give in easily. They would rather lose their way in the games than try their hast to overcome the difficulties. So net bars prevent them from holding a positive attitude toward life. Secondly, in order to save money, some owners of net bars managed to cram the small space with as many computers as possible. When the busy hours come, the air in the room is so had that people may faint. Playing in such an atmosphere is not so good to one’s health.
    In conclusion, I think the government should take more measures to supervise and regulate the operation of net bars, measures like limiting children under 16 to enter the place. I believe net bars are suitable places for study and recreation. We would make use of them rather than give them up.
