Managed by the Australian Film Institute, the Film Library contains over 40,000 works in print, from theses and biographies to film scripts. Be aware though. ** Reading space is limited to 30 persons. However there are no reservations and even first-time visitors must become members by purchasing a yearly, monthly, or weekly Library Pass.
** Books and materials can only be read on site. No materials are permitted to leave the library.
** Members are free to handle and read all books contained in the Film Library. Other materials located in the AFI Film Catalog can only be viewed by filling out a Materials Request Form and handing it to a staff member.
** Backpacks and computer bags are not permitted in the Film Library. Lockers are available for a small refundable charge.
